Life can bring challenges, changes and moments when we feel overwhelmed, disconnected or unsure of our next steps. Sometimes we simply need a space to pause, feel heard and explore what is happening in our lives.

## A warm space to explore what matters to you

At Calmer Prana Counselling & Wellbeing, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, develop greater self-awareness and work towards meaningful personal goals.

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties or navigating a significant life transition, counselling can provide an opportunity to feel supported and discover new ways forward.

My approach is person-centred, recognising that every person brings their own unique experiences, strengths and challenges.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes taking that first step is enough.

For adults

## Adult counselling

Life can be demanding, and it’s easy to lose connection with ourselves while managing the expectations and responsibilities of everyday life.

I offer individual counselling for adults seeking support with:

- Anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm
- Low mood and emotional wellbeing
- Self-esteem, confidence and self-worth
- Life transitions and adjustment
- Relationship and family challenges
- Emotional regulation and coping strategies
- Personal growth and self-discovery
- Building resilience and healthy boundaries
- Finding greater balance and connection in everyday life

Together, we can explore what matters most to you, recognise your strengths and develop practical strategies to support your emotional wellbeing.

My aim is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity and respect as you navigate your own journey.

Young people aged 8 and over

## Child & adolescent counselling

Growing up brings many changes, and sometimes children and adolescents need additional support to understand their emotions, navigate challenges and build confidence.

With over seven years of experience as a Guidance Officer across primary and secondary schools, I have extensive experience supporting the social, emotional and developmental needs of young people.

I offer counselling for children and adolescents experiencing:

- Anxiety, worries and emotional overwhelm
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Friendships, bullying and social challenges
- School transitions and adjustment
- Family changes and life transitions
- Building resilience and coping strategies
- Difficulties expressing thoughts and feelings

I understand that young people don’t always have the words to communicate what they are experiencing. Where appropriate, I incorporate creative and expressive approaches, including art, mindfulness, sandtray and play-based activities, to provide other ways for young people to explore their emotions.

I value working collaboratively with parents and caregivers while respecting the young person’s privacy, developmental needs and therapeutic relationship.

For mothers and parents

## Women’s wellbeing & parenting support

Motherhood and parenting can be deeply rewarding, but they can also bring significant emotional and personal challenges.

As a mother of two young children, I understand the importance of having a space where you can talk openly about your experiences without judgement.

I have a particular interest in supporting women navigating:

- Stress and emotional overwhelm
- Parenting challenges
- Identity changes and life transitions
- Self-care and personal wellbeing
- Emotional adjustment to motherhood
- Relationships and family dynamics
- Finding balance between caring for others and caring for yourself

My approach draws upon professional counselling knowledge, personal experience and training in attachment-based parenting approaches, including Circle of Security Parenting.

I believe that supporting your own wellbeing is an important part of nurturing yourself and the relationships that matter most.

Babies up to 12 months old are welcome to accompany you to counselling sessions.

My counselling approach

## Connection, compassion and meaningful change

I believe that counselling is not about telling you what to do, but creating a supportive space where you can explore your experiences, discover your strengths and work towards your own goals. My approach draws upon:

### Person-centred counselling

Providing a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental environment where you feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood.

### Solution-focused approaches

Exploring your strengths, resources and practical steps towards positive change.

### Creative & expressive techniques

Using art, creative expression and sensory-based activities where appropriate to support emotional exploration and self-awareness.

### Mindfulness & emotional regulation

Introducing practical strategies such as breathing exercises, grounding techniques and mindfulness to support emotional awareness and everyday wellbeing.

### Holistic wellbeing

Recognising the connection between emotional, physical and social wellbeing, including the importance of sleep, movement, nutrition, relationships and meaningful connection.

Your counselling experience will be guided by your individual needs, preferences and goals.

What to expect

## Your first steps

1. ### Before your first session

Starting counselling can sometimes feel daunting, particularly if you have never attended before.

I offer a complimentary 10-minute discovery call where we can briefly discuss what you are looking for, answer any questions and explore whether my services may be a good fit.
2. ### Your first counselling session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a relaxed and supportive environment.

We will explore what has brought you to counselling, what is important to you and what you might hope to gain from our time together. There is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to discuss.

Together, we can begin identifying your strengths, goals and areas where you would like additional support.
3. ### Ongoing sessions

Counselling is a personal journey, and the number of sessions will vary depending on your individual circumstances and goals.

Some people benefit from a few sessions focused on a particular challenge, while others prefer ongoing support.

Where appropriate, we may develop a personalised wellbeing plan to help you identify practical goals and strategies to support your progress between sessions.
